There’s a growing movement in the United States around transferring wealth and power back to indigenous people through the return of land and other methods of decolonization. The Land Back Movement is a political, cultural and environmental movement is rooted in anti-colonial ideologies.
This podcast highlights the ways in which members of the Osage Nation are creating and sustaining efforts for land, food and cultural sovereignty. It features interviews with Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear, Jann Hayman, Sophia Lovato and Harleigh Moore — all members of the Osage Nation working towards sovereignty within the reservation. Their collective efforts have brought a farm and meat processing center with locally produced bison and cattle to the reservation, along with the creation of cultural classes on traditional Osage agriculture and land management, as well as the inception of an Osage ancestral garden.
