Maya Humes

Maya Humes received her bachelor of arts in American Studies with a focus in Ethics and Politics from Stanford University ('14). Currently, she is pursuing her master's degree in Media Studies and is particularly interested in the ways in which digital news platforms are changing how we engage with news. Maya has been lucky enough to conduct research for Allyson Hobbs, Stanford history professor and author of "A Chosen Exile: A History of Racial Passing in American Life," for almost two years now -- an experience that has made her a better writer and a better person overall.
