Alec Glassford

Alec Glassford graduated from Stanford in 2017 with a B.S. in computer science and minors in creative writing and history. He has interned at Flatiron Health, Ashoka, and, most recently, ProPublica, where he worked on the news applications team. He is also the web editor of the Stanford Storytelling Project. Alec is interested in every combination of technology and storytelling, as well as real estate, the environment, the business side of journalism, cybersecurity and anything else you’d like to talk to him about.

Palo Alto evaluating regulations to improve safety of seismically vulnerable buildings

PALO ALTO — Palo Alto City Council voted Nov. 13 for city staff to begin drafting new regulations for certain buildings at risk of earthquake damage, the latest step in a multiyear effort to understand and improve the seismic safety of the city’s older buildings.
