Palo Alto’s Gamble Garden hosts Lunar New Year Celebrations

On Feb. 10, the Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden hosted a Lunar New Year celebration as part of their Second Saturday series. The monthly events include different activities catered to families and children. Every February, they choose to spotlight the New Year festivities, sharing Chinese culture with the Palo Alto community.

This year’s event was free and open to the public, garnering a crowd of more than 500 attendees. Min Haeberle, an attendee, said the event was important as an introduction to Chinese culture and a celebration of diversity in the wider Bay Area.

“I really appreciate in [the] Bay Area, people really respect different type of culture[s]… Chinese culture has been really celebrated, even if they’re not Chinese,” said Haeberle.
