Protesters gather in San Francisco to march for a cease-fire in Gaza

Several pro-Palestinian groups, including the Palestinian Youth Movement and the Arab Resource and Organizing Center, led the protest on Jan. 14. They demanded that local, state and federal officials call for a cease-fire in Gaza, which has been under siege by the Israeli military since Hamas’ attack on Israeli citizens on Oct. 7, 2023.

Ahmad Hasan, with PYM, told Peninsula Press that the group demands there be no more killing of innocent people in Gaza and that Palestinians be allowed to return to their homes.

“We’re not asking you to solve this issue,” said Sabreen Imtair, a leader with AROC. “All we’re asking for is just a cease-fire.”
