Stanford students, staff and faculty filled Memorial Church on campus April 20 to attend 2015’s “Harry’s Last Lecture on a Meaningful Life,” delivered by influential media leader and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey.
In her talk, Winfrey reflected on her own spiritual journey and offered advice on how to get the most out of a meaningful life.
The university said this lecture was created to honor the late Stanford Law School Professor Harry Rathbun, “who delivered his renowned ‘Last Lecture’ annually from the 1930s through the 1950s.”
Winfrey has previously spoken at Stanford, including at the Graduate School of Business in 2014 and at Stanford’s Commencement ceremony in 2008.
