Andrew Cao graduated from Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism with a bachelor's degree in 2020. At Northwestern, he was elected Editor-in-Chief of Northwestern Undergraduate Research Journal and developed it from a 3-person to a 70-person team receiving $20,000 of funding annually from the university. After college, he entered Phoenix TV, one of the main television stations in Asia, with 400 million monthly viewers, as an assistant producer, editor and program reporter. Andrew coordinated various exclusive interviews with Phoenix TV’s flagship program Talk with World Leaders, most notably with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar, the first interview given after the coup d'état, and with the then-Taliban’s spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid, a week after the withdrawal of U.S. military from Afghanistan. Andrew also conducted several interviews as a journalist for Phoenix InfoNews Channel, including a back-to-back interview with Ambassador Mehdawi of Palestine and Ambassador Ben-Abba of Israel during the 2021 Israel-Palestine Crisis. Andrew also worked as a chief consultant for a U.S.-based education consultancy company and helped more than 15 students gain admission to top U.S. and Canadian private schools and universities. Andrew spent his childhood and adolescent years in France, China and Canada, and can speak French, English and Mandarin fluently. His journalistic interests focus on international relations and education.
