A view from the Bay to Breakers 2015 finish line

The 104th annual Bay to Breakers started off May 17 with a brisk 7.5 mile race run, beginning at San Francisco’s Embarcadero and finishing at Ocean Beach.

Isaac Mwangi and Jane Kibii of Kenya finished first in each of their respective categories.

Per tradition, the event quickly moved away from a competitive race and became a citywide celebration of sorts, culminating at the finish line. Event sponsors, live music and a spectacular array of costumes could be found for much of the morning and afternoon.

Stanford students were among the crowds that made the trek to Sunday’s race.
