Carinne Gale is a senior studying communication, education and creative writing at Stanford University. She is from Simi Valley, California, and enjoys exploring the possibilities of nonfiction writing when it comes to journalism and poetry. Carinne currently works for the Children's Book Council, a nonprofit fighting childhood illiteracy, and Ravenswood Reads, a tutoring group for East Palo Alto children. She is pursuing a career as an elementary school teacher and hopes her experience reporting about education and homelessness will guide her in the classroom.
