This is the first video of a three-part series, “The Chefs Among Us,” which chronicles the stories of cooking instructors in the Bay Area who bring elements of their past professions to the kitchen.

Bob Paugh is someone who says he has been teaching his whole life. As a retired physicist, he now likes adding twists to recipes in his cooking classes at Stanford University’s Bechtel International Center. This video features a class in Paugh’s multi-week course on creating American versions of Italian dishes.
